Civil War; Entered 8/13/1862 and mustered in 10/1/1862 as a private in company H, 113 IL Infantry at Kankakee, Illinois. Transferred to invalid corps on 10/12/1863. Mustered out from Memphis, TN on June 20, 1865.
He had two sons adopted out after he died in 1868 named Samuel and George.
Andrew's great granddaughter through his son, Samuel was actress Geneva Mitchell Tuttle
