    • Billy Watson age 70 of Knox City, Missouri, passed away Monday evening, February 28, 2000 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

      Born May 3, 1929 in Knox County, Missouri he was a son of Chester Floyd and Velma Lee Goodwin Watson. His parents preceded him in death and one sister, Betty Jo Watson.

      He was united in marriage to Doris Roberts and to this union three children were born. Then in 1982 he was married to Norma L. Kimberling and she preceded him in death in 1989. On June 18, 1995 at Knox City, Missouri he was united in marriage to Dorothy Strange Caley.

      Surviving are his wife, Dorothy of Knox City, Missouri; one brother, Thomas G. Watson and wife, Georgia of Tucson, Arizona; two sons, Myral Watson and wife Sheryl of Blue Springs, Missouri and Randy Watson and wife, Carolyn of Jeffersonville, Indiana; one daughter, Pamela Jean Ossorio and husband, Luis of Houston, Texas; four step-daughters, Dawn Kimberling and Deonne Sanchez and husband, Bob both of St. Louis, Missouri, Raquel Howe and husband, Neil of LaBelle, Missouri and Leaha Caley and fiance Brad Kaylor of Knox City, Missouri; and ten grandchildren, Myral Watson II, Michelle Watson, Amanda Watson, Michael Watson, Joseph Ossorio, Mackenzie Kaylor, Nicholas, Corey & Maggie Sanchez and Andrea Kimberling.

      Mr. Watson received his education and was raised in the Knox City community. During the Korean Conflict he served as a Seaman in the United States Navy November 12, 1948 through October 23, 1952. He was employed at the Ford Motor Company in Kansas City, Missouri for thirty years. He has resided in Knox City since his retirement in 1987. Billy was a member of the Knox City American Legion Post #358, the Knox City Baptist Church and had served on the Knox City Council. He was an outdoors person who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and visiting with all his family and friends.

      Burial will be in the Knox City Cemetery in Knox City, Missouri. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Knox City American Legion Post #358.
