      Rites Held for Former Resident Killed in Mishap
      Funeral services for a former Ortonville resident, Betty Elizabeth Charlotte Greenwood (nee VanHout), were held last Monday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. from the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Marshall, Minnesota.
      Rev. George Campbell officiated and interment was in Calvary cemetery, Marshall. The church choir sang, accompanied by Mrs. W.W. White.
      Mrs. Greenwood was killed in an auto accident on Oct. 2.
      Betty VanHout Greenwood was born Oct. 17, 1928, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard VanHout of Ortonville. She was baptized in St. Lawrence Catholic church of Milbank, S.D. Father Grabig baptized her as an infant.
      She graduated from Ortonville High School in 1946, and on August 6, 1949, she married Harold L. Greenwood in Ortonville. They moved to Marshall, where she had lived until her passing.
      Survivors include her parents, her husband, and six children, Thomas, 14, Mark, 13, Susan, 11, Jeffrey, 10 Paula, 8, and Lee Anne, 6. Also two sisters, Lorraine (Mrs. Dale Hopkins) of Ortonville, Patricia (Mrs. Vincent Wollschlager) of Big Stone City, and two brothers, Donald of Big Stone City, and Daniel of Princeton, Minnesota. A sister, Marie, preceded her in death.
      Pallbearers were Willis De-Austin, George Caron, William Broughton, Frank DeScheper, Walter Schroeder, and Jerome Ashburn.
