    • William "Bill" A. Fennern, 79, of Springfield, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
      Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.
      Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield.
      He is survived by his wife Marie Fennern of Morgan, a daughter Marietta and Russ Weber of Morgan; two grandsons; three step-grandchildren; a sister Frieda Fennern of Springfield and many nieces and nephews.
      He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Edmund, Arthur, Ernest, Herbert, Alfred, Ben, George, and Harold ,and sisters Hertha Fennern, Esther Kruse and Florence Mattison.
      He was born April 10, 1920 in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County, to William and Sophie (Foelster) Fennern. He grew up and attended country school in Willow Lake Township. He married Marie Carstenson on Dec. 23, 1947 in Springfield where he worked as a bricklayer and mason for many years in the construction business. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church,Springfield, and the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers.
