JOHN ABELL resided on Lot #66 in "Beaverdam Manor", containing 151 acres, which he leased from his father. He also leased part of Lot #46 from WILLIAM BRYAN. On 3/24/1762 he leased this tract to his son JOHN ABELL for 15 years. On 8/12/1741 JOHN ABELL, JR. obtained 273 acres of 'Wheatiey's Chance" from EDWARD NEALE and 272 acres of "Kirby's Choice". On 10/6/1741 JOHN ABELL, JR. sold "Kirby's Choice" to three different persons. JOHN ABELL administered the estate of WILLIAM WALKER on 2/11/1765. In 1769 JOHN ABELL, SR., JOHN ABELL, JR. and EDMUND ABELL all shared the same pew at St. Andrew's. JOHN ABELL is listed in the 1790 census with no wife, himself, a son and four slaves. JOHN ABELL died in 1794, leaving a will naming his five children and two grandchildren.
