- Odus Barnes, 58, Succumbs
Odus Elwood Barnes, 58, a native of the Pennington section and a resident of Oroville district his entire lifetime, died Monday night at the Union Hotel Annex. He had come to Oroville Saturday.
Barnes, who had been suffering from asthma, was found dead in bed Monday, according to a report to police. He had been under the care of a physician.
He was born in the Pennington district, Dec. 18, 1883. In his earlier life he was a stockman, but lately had been employed by Les Hastings at the American Farms.
He was a veteran of World War No. 1
Survivors are two brothers, George P. Barnes of Colusa and Elmus V. Barnes of Orobille.
Funeral arrangements are in charge of Hamilton and Riley.

- Barnes Rites Held In Live Oak Church
Funeral services for Odus E. Barnes, who died in Oroville Monday, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Community church in Live Oak, with Hamilton and Riley in charge.
The Rev. E. B. Carey of the Gridly Presbyterian church officiated. Casket bearers were Robert Fairlee, Richard DeRee, W. C. Adams, B. L. Ballard, L. M. Spilman and Harold Cobeen.
Burial was in Pennington cemetery.
