    • Harry L. Milberger, 85 of Carlton, formerly of Cloquet, died Monday, May 12, 2008 in St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth. He was born in 1922, the son of Frank and Hannah Milberger. Harry graduated from Cloquet and then worked in the CCC Camps. He was a World War II veteran, serving from 1943 to 1946 as a medical technician in the 759th Hospital Ship Platoon. Harry married Gladys Moen on March 17, 1959 in Cloquet. He was employed by Northwest Paper/Potlatch Corporation for 43 years. Harry was a proud union member serving in many capacities for Local 97 Paper Workers and Local 939 Firemen and Oilers. He was a member of the Potlatch Quarter Century Club, Finlandia Beach Club and a 50+ year member of the Cloquet American Legion. Harry was a cribbage player and taught his grandchildren to play. He enjoyed watching softball and baseball, had a love of dogs, enjoyed debating politics with anyone, had a keen interest in current events and was known to enjoy a beer at the Legion. Harry loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time on his brother-in-law's farm in Esko. After his retirement, he especially enjoyed spending time with his brother, 'Shorty'. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Anderson on Aug. 19, 2001 and a brother, Gordon Milberger. Harry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gladys of Carlton; his four children, Rick Moen, Linda Anderson and Jeff Milberger, all of Cloquet and Karl (Nicole) Milberger of Mahtowa; one brother, William 'Shorty' (Lorraine) of Cloquet; two sisters, Muriel Johnson of Barnum and Mary Warner of Cloquet; a sister-in-law, Mardelle Milberger of Carlton; a very special nephew, Denny Milberger; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson. VISITATION:4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008 in the Fireside Room of Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet with Military Honors at 7 p.m. accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard.
