Alta Gravette-Cassity
Alta Vesta Gravette Cassity, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Gravette, was born at Newkirk, Oklahoma, March 26, 1894, and died in Arkansas City, Kansas, Sunday evening, Dec. 8th, aged 24 years 8 months and 12 days.
In 1898 she came with her parents to Ponca City where she grew to womanhood and remained until she was married.
As a child she was devoted to her Sunday school and while quite young united with the Christian church, and at the time of her death was a member of the First Christian Church of Ponca City.
Sept. 2th 1912 she was united in marriage to Forest L. Cassity. To this union were born two children, Jack age 5 and Helen age 3.
Mrs. Cassity was a good, Christian wife and mother. She always combined those womanly graces, modesty, patience, kindliness and unselfishness to so marked a degree that made her loved by all whoe good pleasure it was to know her.
She leaves besides her husband and two little children, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from the home of A. E. Warren 209 North 8th street. Rev. L. F. DePoister, past of the First Christian Church conducted the funeral.
