Dr. John P. Cassity, Dentist, 50, Dies
Newtown -- Dr. John P. Cassity, 50, of 59 Washington square, head institutional dentist at Fairfield Hills hospital, died today in his home.
Services will take place Friday at 1 p.m. in the Newton Congregational church with the Rev. Alastair Sellars, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in New Haven.
A native of Oklahoma, Dr. Cassity was a resident of Newtown eight years. He became head Institutional dentist at Fairfield Hills hospital in 1957 and developed a comprehensive dental service program there which received acreditation this year from the Joint Commision on Accreditation of Hospitals.
He was a member of the National and Connecticut Dental associations, the Masonic lodge in Middlebury, past president of the Little League of Newtown, and a member of the Newtown Congregational church.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Janet Sommer Cassity; a son, Lawrence and a daughter, Miss Maureen Cassity, both of Newtown; a sister, Mrs. A. J. Carlson of Portland, Ore.

Wedding Plans
Miss Marjorie Seaton, who will be married to Dr. Jack P. Cassity Sept. 5, will leave early next week for New York City where the wedding will take place. She is now revealing some of her wedding plans. The couple will be married at 1 p.m. at the Little Church Around the Corner in the presence of the immediate families and a few close friends. Miss Wanda Seaton will attend her sister as maid of honor, and Dr. George Wadsworth of Hartford, Conn., will be best man. After the ceremony luncheon wil lbe served at a hotel. Following a trip thru the New England states the couple will be at home at Middletown, Conn. -- Sunday State Journal
