Minnie Pennington Dies at Age of 42
Minnie Pennigton, 519 Martin St., died in the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Denver Wednesday, Aug. 30, after several years of failing health. She was 42.
Born Dec. 30, 1918, in Memphis, Mo., she came to Longmont with her family in 1927, and lived here except for two years residence in Loveland.
Mrs. Pennington served in the Women's Army Corps in World War II from 1942 until 1945, at which time, on Oct. 25, she was married to Haskell Pennington, who survives.
Also surviving are a son Randy, daughter Sherry, three brothers, Carl McKinney of Lyons, John McKinney of Pine, and Roy McKinney of Jamestown; and two sister, Mrs. Leota Dugger and Mrs. Ima Farhner, both of Longmont, and her mother, Mrs. Iva McKinney, Longmont.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lewellen Funeral Home, the Rev. Talmage Page officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
