1948 - 2017
Robert Lee Laber, 68, passed away at his home on May 21, 2017. He was born October 16, 1948 in Longmont to Alexander and Pauline (Seader) Laber. Bob graduated from Longmont High School in 1966. On September 2 1967, he married Sherry Pennington. Bob served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971. He saw duty in Vietnam and was Honorably discharged. Bob had a long career as an auto body repairman. He worked for Connor Auto Body in Longmont. He owned and operated Laber's Tin Lizzy auto body in Niwot for 20 years, selling the business in 1993. Bob continued working at SVE Auto Body in Broomfield. In recent years, he had slowed down some and was only doing custom restoration work. He enjoyed everything to do with cars and hot rods. Bob looked forward to the time spent with his friends at Breakfast club and he was a big Bronco fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his wife Sherry, three children Rob Laber (Tracey), Jennifer Maddox (Tony) and Lindsey Geist (Luke), six grandchildren Gannon, Gunner, Alex, Ryan, Landon and Lilah, and six sisters and brothers Jane Campbell, Henry Laber, Clarence Laber, Ed Laber, Dorothy Dermody and Mary Louise Browder and their families. A graveside service will be held 9:30am Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Halcyon Hospice and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
