Eleanor (Mrs. Henry) Brausen, age 77, a resident of Pierz, MN, died September 5, 1999, at the Foley Nursing Home in Foley, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial was held September 10 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with Father Ken Brenny officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery.
Eleanor was born on February 1, 1922, to Matthew and Mary (Otremba) Schnurrer in Pierz. She was united in marriage to Henry Brausen on June 19, 1939, in Pierz. They farmed for 45 years in the Pierz area and moved to Pierz in September of 1989. Eleanor was a resident of St. Mary's Villa in Pierz since 1994. She was a resident of the Foley Nursing Home since May of this year. She was a member of Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her husband Henry Brausen of Pierz; son Larry Brausen and wife Gwen of Pierz; daughters, Mrs. David (Violet) Bauer of Little Falls, MN, Mrs. Jim (Bernie) Tschida of Brainerd, MN, Mrs. Francis (Karen) Stangl of Pierz, Mrs. Mike (Monica) Kapsner of Pierz, Mrs. Jerry (Mardell) Herman of Royalton, MN, Mrs. Gene (Roxi) Yasgar of Sartell, MN, and Mrs. Scott (Brenda) Luberts of Spicer, MN; brother, Reinhart (Shorty) Schnurrer of Minnea-polis, MN; sisters, Irene Weber of Sleepy Eye, MN and Leona Johnson of St. Cloud, MN; 31 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Mary Schnurrer; brothers, Frank, William, and Victor; sisters, Cecelia Becker, Florence Szyske, Marceline Schnurrer, and Adeline Brausen; and grandchildren, Dean and Diane Bauer.
Casketbearers were Daryl Bauer, Kevin Tschida, Jamey Stangl, Craig Kapsner, Brent Herman, Cory Yasgar, Calvin Brausen, and Adam Luberts.
