- Cynthia Hanson, 69, of Windom died Nov. 23, 2003, at Windom Area Hospital in Windom.
Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 26, at American Lutheran Church in Windom with Rev. Stephen Norby and Rev. Gregory Hall officiating.
Special music was provided by Carol Vought, organist; and Chuck Severson, vocalist.
Casketbearers were Gary Grunewald, Scott Zamzow, Todd Thompson, Matt Kalash, Malon Thompson and Jan Johnson.
Honorary bearers were those who Cynthia's life touched.
Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom.
Anderson-Schmidt-LaCanne Funeral Home of Windom is in
charge of the funeral arrangements.
Cynthia Grunewald was born Aug. 20, 1934, to William "Bill" and Cleo (Fricke) Grunewald in Windom. She was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of American Lutheran Church in Windom.
She received her education in Windom Schools.
In 1952, Cynthia married Calmer Hanson, who died in 1984.
She was a mother, homemaker and caretaker her entire life.
Cynthia enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors at her picnic table. She also enjoyed shopping, decorating, eating out, TV soap operas, cooking, going to rummage sales, collecting cookbooks and playing cards with her grandchildren.
For many years, Cynthia battled congestive heart failure.
Survivors include her five children: Bill (Colleen) Hanson of St. Cloud, Sheila (Kelly) Woizeschke of Windom, Bob (Robin) Hanson of Maple Grove, Sandra (Timothy) Coyle of Rice and Richard (Jill) Hanson of Shawnee, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou Walinga of Windom; and a brother, Ed (Nete) Grunewald of Windom.
