Funeral services for Laurane Hopkins, 71, of Anoka were held Monday, Oct. 27, 1997 in St. John's Catholic Church in Ortonville.
Father Andrew Michels officiated with Sister Doris VanHout, reader. Madonna Adelman was the organist and soloist was Harriet Rausch.
Special music was provided by the St. John's Choir.
Honorary pallbearers were Mark Byers and John Back. Active pallbearers were Keith and Greg Giese, Rick and Cody Hopkins, Chad Byers and Bob VanHout.
Burial ws in St. Charles Catholic Cemetery at Big Stone City, SD.
Laurane Estella (VanHOut) Hopkins was born April 4, 1926 at Milbank, SD to parents Richard and Laura (Steltz) VanHout. She was baptized adn confirmed at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Milbank, SD.
Laurane was united in marriage to Dale Hopkins on June 30, 1945 at Ortonville.
She worked as a clerk for Super America Convenience Store in Anoka and she was a housewife. Her hobbies included quilting, camping and being a homemaker.
Larane passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997 at teh Presbyterian Home in Roseville, having reached the age fo 71 years, 6 months, and 19 days.
Survivors include her husband, Dale of Anoka; six daughters, Margaret (Bryan) Goetsch of Dassel, Mary (Arlen) Giese of Ortonville, Gail (Skip) Garing of Jonesboro, GA, Beverly (Doug) Knutson of Andover, Sandy (Jeff) Simon of New Brighton and Becky (Glenn) Steeves of Mora; four sons, Richard of Houston, TX, John (Sheryl) of Elk River, Bill of Minneapolis, and Bob of Cold Spring; one sister, Pat Wollschlager of Milbank; two brothers, Don (Arvene) VanHout of Big Stone City, Dan (Chris) VanHout of Andover; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Betty Greenwood.
Larson Funeral Home of Ortonville was in charge of the arrangements.
