Area man, 25, found shot in Fairbanks
Alaska state troopers last week reported finding the body of Don Grunewald, 25, formerly of the Windom area. He had been shot.
When he was reported missing from his job as a cook in a Fairbanks hotel, troopers began a search and found his body in a gold dredge. It was estimated that he had died Dec. 30 or 31.
An autopsy was ordered.

Funeral services were held Friday at Brainerd, where his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Grunewald, make their home.
Relatives from the area who survive are his grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Grunewald of Windom; a brother, Glen, of WIndom; four uncles, Donald and Ernest, both of Windom; Richard fo Kinbrae; Dudley of Bingham Lake; two aunts, Mrs. Henry Ysker of Wilder and Mrs. Richard Horkey of Windom.
