«b»Died«/b»
On Saturday, August 1st, 1914, the spirit of Miss Ella Kroeger, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kroeger, escaped from the bondage of the flesh, and passed to the Great Beyond. For more than two years Ella had suffered from a complication of diseases, and during that time all that medical skill could do was attempted in the hope that health might be restored to her, but all to no purpose. She was a very bright young woman and at one time was in Immanuel hospital taking a course in nursing, but had to give up the work on account of ill health.
The funeral was held on Monday, a short service in English being held at the house at 12 o'clock and a service in German at the German Lutheran church at Mankato at two o'clock, interment being made in the Lutheran cemetery at Mankato.
The large gathering of friends at the house and the many who followed the remains to Mankato attest to the love and esteem in which the young lady was held by her neighbors. The pall bearers were selected from among her former school mates at this place. The floral offerings were many and very beautiful, and it is hoped that these helped to carry a message of sympathy to the bereaved parents, brothers and sister. Their aching hearts, only time and the All wise Father can heal. -- Rapidan Correspondence, Good Thunder Herald.
