Born July 5, 1901, in Freeport, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Alberts. Lived 75 years in Rockford, coming here from Freeport. Married to the former Margaret Olsen in Rockford. Self-employed as a carpenter. Survivors include a son, Gerald L., Rockford; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Mutimer and Mrs. Sherman (Florence) Levey, both of Rockford, and Mrs. Ruth Dewey, Freeport; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Margaret, in 1954; and a son John C., who was killed in action in Ben Dhong, Vietnam, May 16, 1966. Services at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 30, in Fitzgerald And Son Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., and 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, with the Rev. Francis E. McDonnell, pastor, officiating. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
