- Emil E. Ziemann, 87, of Lodi, died on Jan. 13 in a local convalescent hospital following a short illness. He was born on Jan. 31, 1911, in Golden Valley, N.D., and moved to Lodi with his family in 1920.
He married Bertha S. Ehlers on June 9, 1934.
Mr. Ziemann was employed at a local winery and also at the Stockton Shipyards during the war. In later life, he was self-employed as a rancher and vineyardist.
He was a member of Christ Evangelical Church.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha in 1991; and sisters, Tina Stephens and Genie Meullar.
He is survived by his three sond; two sisters, Esther Bender and Irene Polenski; a brother, Donald Ziemann; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
