- Velda Anita Grunewald, daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Martin) Grunewald was born June 7, 1935, at Dale Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota. She received her education in the Green Hill Country School in Dale Township.
On December 17, 1957, she was united in marriage to Henry George Ysker at Mason City, Iowa. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Storden and Wilder, Minnesota before moving to Butterfield, Minnesota in 1979. Velda worked for many years at Tony Downs Foods in St. James, Minnesota and later at Butterfield Food's in Butterfield, Minnesota. Henry died on April 14, 1987,. Velda was admitted to the Watonwan Memorial Hospital in St. James, Minnesota on Sunday, June 7, 1992. This is where she died on Monday, June 8, 1992, at the age of 57 years and 1 day.
Velda was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Butterfield, Minnesota, where she was baptized on January 26, 1980.
Mrs. Ysker is survived by three daughters, Shirley Scott and her husband, Don, of Chisholm, Minnesota, Jo Flaherty, and her husband, Patrick, of Butterfield, Minnesota, and Connie Wollschlager of Meadowlands, Minnesota; three sons, John Ysker and his wife, Connie, Henry Ysker and his wife, Loretta, and Ernest Ysker and his wife, Sharon, all of Mountain Lake, Minnesota; eighteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four sisters, Ethel Leisen of Hibbing, Minnesota, Joyce Horkey and her husband, Harold, of Smithville, Arkansas, June Horkey of Windom, Minnesota and Norma Renczykowski and her husband Emil, of Meadowlands, Minnesota; eight brothers, Frederick Grunewald and his wife, Jean, of St. Paul, Minnesota, Lyle Grunewald of Port Bolivar, Texas, Kenneth Grunewald and his wife, Darlene, Ray Grunewald and his wife, Flossie, and Richard Grunewald and his wife, Karen, all of Brainerd, Minnesota, Dudley Grunewald, Donald Grunewald and Ernest Grunewald St. and his wife, LaRae, all of Windom, Minnesota; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Delores Sulflow and one in infancy; and five brothers, Alfred and four in infancy.

Velda "Sis" Anita Ysker passed away on June 8 in Watonwan Memorial Hospital at the age of 57.
Services were held on June 11 at the First Lutheran Church in Butterfield with Pastor David Webster officiating and music by Linnea Madson on the organ.
Interment followed at the Butterfield Cemetery in Butterfield.
Pallbearers were Harlan Hanson, Michael Hanson, Ernest Grunewald Jr., Glen Grunewald, Kevin Grunewald and Don Linscheid.
